The Pentair SolarTouch® Solar Control System 521592 provides automatic, precise control of a swimming pool’s solar-heating system. It monitors the temperature of the pool water and solar collectors, then automatically directs water through the solar panels whenever sufficient solar heat is available.
This complete package includes the SolarTouch power center and digital control panel, a motorized valve actuator, a three-way solar drain-down valve, and two temperature sensors. The included water-temperature sensor has a 20-foot cable, while the solar-temperature sensor has a 40-inch cable.
When the solar collectors become warmer than the pool water by the selected temperature differential, the controller rotates the valve and routes filtered pool water through the solar-heating system. Once the desired temperature is reached or solar heat is no longer available, the valve returns to its normal position. The drain-down valve allows water to drain from the collectors after the circulation pump shuts off.
