Electrical safety note: Always shut power off at the breaker before removing the drive. Only test Line 1 and Line 2 voltage if you are qualified to work around 240 volts. Confirm no voltage is present before touching or removing wires. |
Service Overview
Pool Supply Depot can rebuild XF, VS, VSF, and SVRS drives from Pentair IntelliFlo variable speed pumps. Customers remove the drive from the pump and ship the drive to Pool Supply Depot for inspection and rebuild.
· All rebuilds are completed in-house by Pool Supply Depot.
· After a successful rebuild, each drive is tested with power and a tester motor.
· Customers receive video proof by email showing the rebuilt drive connected to power and the tester motor spinning.
· Our current success rate for rebuilding drives is approximately 8 out of 10 drives.
· Rebuilt drives include a 60-day warranty.
Before Sending Your Drive
1. Confirm you have 240 volts at Line 1 and Line 2 going into the pump drive.
2. If 240 volts are present and there are no lights on the keypad, no display on the screen, or no lights above the Start/Stop button, the drive is most likely fried or defective.
3. Sometimes the display may still turn on, but the pump may show an overcurrent warning. This is also commonly considered a bad drive.
4. To help confirm the motor is not frozen or defective, shut off power to the equipment, remove the fan plate cover, and spin the fan blades by hand.
5. If the fan blades spin freely, the motor is most likely still in good condition.
Send a Photo or Video First
Before shipping the drive, please attach a picture or send a short video of your current drive. We can review it and let you know whether we can try to rebuild the drive.

Preventing Future Drive Failure
To help prevent VS drive failure in the future, we recommend lowering the pump RPM below 3000 RPM. Running the pump below 3000 RPM can help prevent over-amping and premature drive
