The EC-140264 is Pentair’s e-commerce version of the standard 140264 TR60 filter. This is a side-mount filter tank without a valve; a compatible multiport or push-pull backwash valve must be purchased separately.

Valve Compatibility

The TR60 requires a compatible Pentair side-mounted multiport or push-pull valve. Pentair identifies valves as separate products and does not include one with the EC-140264 filter.

Filter Media Requirements

The TR60 uses approximately 300 pounds of No. 20-grade silica filter sand. The recommended media should generally have a particle size between approximately 0.45 and 0.55 millimeters.

Do not use play sand, construction sand or excessively fine media. Incorrect filter media can restrict water flow, enter the pool through the laterals or reduce filtration performance.

Alternative approved sand-replacement media may be used only when the manufacturer’s volume and weight conversion instructions are followed.

Installation Requirements

Install the filter on a solid, level equipment pad with enough clearance for plumbing, valve operation and future servicing. The circulation pump must be sized so that the flow rate does not exceed the filter’s rated capacity.

A properly configured backwash line is required. The waste line must be able to handle the full backwash flow without restricting the system.

Always turn off the pump and fully relieve internal pressure before opening or servicing the filter. Pentair’s Triton II design includes a pressure-relief assembly, threaded bulkhead connectors and service access to the sand bed and internal components.
