Product Overview
Restore proper filtration and internal water distribution in a compatible Pentair Sand Dollar sand filter with the Pentair 152227 Standpipe Assembly. This genuine Pentair replacement component is designed primarily for the Sand Dollar SD60 above-ground pool filter and compatible Cristal-Flo II high-rate sand filters with a 22-inch tank.
The standpipe assembly sits inside the filter tank beneath the sand media. During normal filtration, pool water moves down through the sand, where dirt and suspended debris are captured. The filtered water then enters the laterals at the bottom of the tank and travels upward through the center standpipe before returning to the pool.
A cracked standpipe, damaged hub, or broken lateral can allow filter sand to enter the return plumbing and flow back into the swimming pool. Internal damage may also cause poor filtration, channeling through the sand bed, reduced circulation, or difficulty completing a proper backwash cycle.
Replacing the complete internal assembly helps restore the filter’s original water-flow path and provides a dependable alternative to replacing individual damaged components.

Compatibility
Part 152227 is intended for compatible Pentair Sand Dollar SD60 filters and select Cristal-Flo II filters using a 22-inch tank. Some replacement references specify SD60 filters manufactured after October 2004.
Compatibility depends on the filter model, manufacturing date, tank size, standpipe length, lateral design, and multiport-valve connection. SD35, SD40, SD50, and SD80 filters use different internal assemblies.
Confirm the complete model and date information printed on the filter label before ordering.
Installation Information
Turn off the circulation pump and disconnect power before servicing the filter. Open the air-relief system, confirm that the pressure gauge reads zero, and drain the tank completely.
Remove the multiport valve and existing sand media carefully. Center the replacement standpipe assembly inside the tank and protect the open top of the pipe to prevent sand from entering it.
Add the manufacturer-recommended amount and grade of filter sand while keeping the standpipe centered. Do not force, bend, or lift the assembly after the tank has been filled.
Reinstall the multiport valve, complete the required backwash and rinse cycles, and inspect the system for leaks before returning it to normal filtration.
