Product Overview
The Pentair Triton® II 24" Side Mount Sand Filter (140264) is one of the most trusted and durable high-performance sand filters available for residential in-ground swimming pools. Featuring Pentair's exclusive one-piece fiberglass-reinforced tank manufactured using the proprietary GlasLok™ process, the Triton II delivers exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and years of dependable operation in even the harshest outdoor environments.
Model 140264 (TR60) provides 3.14 square feet of effective filtration area and is designed to accommodate a maximum flow rate of 63 GPM, making it an excellent choice for medium to large residential pools. The filter holds 325 lbs. of #20 silica sand or 250 lbs. of sand with 75 lbs. of pea gravel, delivering crystal-clear water while requiring minimal maintenance. Valves are sold separately, allowing you to choose the valve configuration that best fits your plumbing system.
The Triton II's internal diffuser evenly distributes water across the sand bed, maximizing filtration efficiency while extending the time between backwashing. Its heavy-duty closure, built-in pressure gauge, manual air relief valve, and combination sand/water drain make maintenance quick and straightforward for pool professionals and homeowners alike.

After installation, backwash the filter before placing it into normal filtration mode. Monitor the pressure gauge and backwash whenever the operating pressure increases approximately 8–10 PSI above the clean starting pressure.
