Cartridge Maintenance
Clean the cartridge when the pressure gauge rises approximately 10 PSI above the recorded clean-filter pressure, or when pool circulation is noticeably reduced.
Recommended cleaning procedure:
- Turn off power to the circulation pump.
- Prevent the pump from restarting automatically.
- Open the manual air-relief valve.
- Confirm that the pressure gauge reads zero.
- Remove the locking ring and upper filter section.
- Lift out the cartridge element.
- Rinse between the pleats using a garden hose.
- Inspect the cartridge for tears, damaged pleats or cracked end caps.
- Reinstall the cartridge and reassemble the filter.
- Follow the proper startup and air-relief procedure.
Never loosen or remove the locking ring while the system is pressurized.
Installation Requirements
Install the filter on a stable, level equipment pad with sufficient space for plumbing and future servicing. The CC150 requires approximately 76 inches of total vertical clearance so the cartridge can be removed without obstruction.
The circulation pump and plumbing must be sized so the flow rate does not exceed the filter’s rated capacity or the rating of the lowest-rated system component.
The filter must not be operated above 50 PSI or with internal water temperatures exceeding 104°F.
