Product Overview

The Pentair 356349Z Drive Cover Assembly is a genuine OEM replacement cover designed for compatible Pentair IntelliFlo3® VSF and Sta-Rite IntelliPro3® VSF variable-speed and flow pool pumps. This black housing installs over the pump’s electronic drive area, helping protect the internal control components from debris, dust, moisture, sunlight, and routine outdoor exposure.

A cracked, warped, missing, or weather-damaged drive cover can leave the pump electronics more vulnerable to environmental damage. Replacing the cover restores the pump’s factory appearance while helping maintain the intended protection around the drive assembly.

This listing is for the black drive cover assembly only. It does not include the electronic drive, motor, touchscreen keypad, I/O relay board, communication wiring, wet end, or complete pump. Compatibility should be confirmed using the pump model number and existing part number before ordering.

Benefits

The electronic drive is one of the most important and costly components of a variable-speed pool pump. A properly installed cover helps reduce exposure to dirt, moisture, insects, and accidental contact during routine equipment-pad maintenance.

Replacing only the damaged exterior cover may allow the existing drive and motor to remain in service when they are still operating correctly. This provides a more economical repair option than replacing the complete drive assembly or pump.

Because the 356349Z is manufactured by Pentair, it is designed to match the original mounting points, exterior dimensions, and black finish used on compatible IntelliFlo3 and IntelliPro3 pumps.

Specifications

Compatibility

The Pentair 356349Z is used on compatible black-housing IntelliFlo3 and IntelliPro3 variable-speed and flow pump configurations. Applications include select 1.5 HP and 3 HP pumps, including models equipped with standard wireless controls, touchscreen controls, or optional relay-board configurations.

Compatibility must be verified by pump model and parts diagram. This cover should not be selected based solely on horsepower because other Pentair variable-speed pump families use different drive housings and covers. Pentair confirms that IntelliFlo3 and IntelliPro3 pumps are designed for connected operation and compatibility with supported Pentair automation systems.

Installation Information

Turn off electrical power at the circuit breaker before servicing the pump. Variable-speed pump drives may retain an electrical charge after power is disconnected, so follow the waiting period and safety procedures listed in the Pentair service instructions.

Remove the damaged cover carefully and inspect the drive, mounting points, gasket surfaces, wiring, and connectors for moisture, corrosion, or physical damage. Install the replacement cover evenly and tighten the mounting hardware without overtightening.

This cover does not repair a failed electronic drive. Professional inspection is recommended if the pump displays error codes, fails to power on, or shows signs of water intrusion.

• You need the exterior cover and not the complete electronic drive.
• Your existing touchscreen, drive, and motor remain operational.
• The mounting points and pump housing are not damaged.

Warranty Information

The Pentair 356349Z is covered by the applicable manufacturer’s limited warranty against qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty coverage does not include improper installation, impact damage, chemical exposure, water intrusion caused by damaged seals, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or failures involving the electronic drive or motor.
