Product Overview

Restore your Pentair FNS Plus 60 D.E. filter’s filtration performance with the genuine Pentair 59023300 Complete Element Grid Assembly. This factory replacement assembly provides the complete internal grid cluster used to capture fine debris as water passes through the diatomaceous earth filter.

Designed for the 60-square-foot Pentair FNS Plus vertical-grid D.E. filter, this assembly offers a convenient alternative to replacing and rebuilding individual damaged grids. It is an ideal solution when multiple grids are torn, cracked, distorted, or no longer sealing correctly against the manifold.

The assembly uses 30-inch filter grids and provides 60 square feet of effective filtration area. Genuine Pentair construction helps maintain proper alignment, water distribution, and compatibility inside the designated filter tank.

Product Specifications

Compatibility

Pentair part 59023300 is designed for:

• Pentair FNS Plus 60 D.E. Filter
• Pentair model FNSP60
• Certain American Products/Pentair Titan RPM 60-square-foot D.E. filter applications

Compatibility should always be confirmed using the filter model and existing assembly part number before ordering. This assembly is not intended for 24-, 36-, or 48-square-foot FNS Plus filters.

When to Replace the Grid Assembly

Replacement may be necessary when:

• D.E. powder returns to the pool through the return lines
• Multiple grids are torn, cracked, or deteriorated
• The grid assembly no longer sits correctly on the standpipe
• Internal components are distorted or difficult to align
• Pool water remains cloudy despite correct chemistry and filter operation
• The assembly has become brittle from age or chemical exposure
• Replacing individual grids is no longer practical or cost-effective

Before replacing the assembly, inspect the filter manifold, grids, standpipe, air-bleed components, and internal seals to identify the source of the filtration problem.

Installation Information

Turn off the circulation pump and release all pressure from the filter before opening the tank. Remove the existing assembly, clean the inside of the filter tank, and inspect the standpipe and related seals for damage.

Position the replacement grid assembly carefully over the standpipe and verify that it is fully seated before reinstalling the filter lid and clamp. After installation, recharge the filter with the correct amount of fresh D.E. powder according to the filter manufacturer’s instructions.

Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with pressurized pool filtration systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 59023300 a complete grid assembly?

Yes. This is the complete internal element grid assembly for the designated 60-square-foot filter application. It is intended to replace the assembled grid cluster rather than a single damaged grid.

Does this fit the Pentair FNS Plus 60?

Yes. Part 59023300 is the specified complete element grid assembly for the Pentair FNS Plus 60, model FNSP60.

Will it fit an FNS Plus 48 filter?

No. The FNS Plus 48 uses a different assembly. Pentair part 59023400 is specified for the 48-square-foot model.

What size are the filter grids?

The FNS Plus 60 assembly uses 30-inch grids and provides 60 square feet of filtration area.

Does this include the filter tank or clamp?

No. This product is the internal element grid assembly only. The filter tank, tank clamp, pressure gauge, valve, standpipe, and external plumbing are not included.

Do I need to add D.E. powder after installation?

Yes. A D.E. filter must be charged with the manufacturer-recommended amount of fresh diatomaceous earth after the system is reassembled and started.

Why is D.E. powder returning to the pool?

Common causes include torn grids, a damaged manifold, improper assembly alignment, standpipe problems, or an internal seal failure. Inspect all related internal components before returning the filter to service.
