Product Overview

The Hayward AquaTrol Salt Chlorination System W3AQ-TROL-RJ is a convenient salt chlorine generator designed specifically for above-ground pools up to 18,000 gallons. Key Features

Designed for Above-Ground Pools

The AquaTrol W3AQ-TROL-RJ is designed for above-ground pools up to 18,000 gallons, making it a practical salt chlorination solution for residential above-ground pool owners.

Salt Chlorine Generation

AquaTrol automatically converts dissolved salt into chlorine through electrolysis, helping sanitize pool water without routine measuring and dosing of liquid or tablet chlorine.

GLX-CELL-5 Salt Cell Included

This system includes the AquaTrol salt cell and is compatible with GLX-CELL-5, T-CELL-5, and TCELLS318 replacement cells.

Return Jet Mounting

The RJ model mounts the cell directly to the return jet on the outside of the pool, making it different from the HP hose/pipe fitting models.

Straight-Blade Line Cord and Outlet

The W3AQ-TROL-RJ uses a straight-blade line cord and outlet, unlike TL models that use twist-lock electrical connections.

Built-In 24-Hour Pump Timer

The integrated timer controls the filtration pump and allows multiple pump periods per day. Hayward notes the timer can be programmed in increments as small as 15 minutes.

Digital Salt Display

The digital salt display helps pool owners monitor salt levels and system status for easier maintenance.

Diagnostic Indicators

Built-in diagnostic indicators help simplify operation and troubleshooting.

Superchlorinate Function

The Superchlorinate feature provides extra chlorine generation when needed, such as after heavy pool use, high temperatures, or challenging water conditions.

0.75 lbs/day Chlorine Output

Hayward lists AquaTrol with 0.75 lbs. per day salt output for above-ground pool chlorination.

Benefits

The Hayward W3AQ-TROL-RJ is a strong choice for above-ground pool owners who want the convenience of salt chlorination in a return-jet-mounted configuration. By generating chlorine automatically from dissolved salt, AquaTrol helps reduce the need to store, handle, and manually dose traditional chlorine products.

The built-in pump timer adds extra value by helping control pump run time directly from the chlorination system. With its included salt cell, return jet fittings, straight-blade cord and outlet, digital salt display, diagnostic indicators, and Superchlorinate mode, this system provides a user-friendly upgrade for compatible above-ground pools.
