Product Overview

The Hayward CL220ABG Automatic Above-Ground Pool Chlorinator is an off-line chemical feeder designed to provide consistent sanitizer delivery for compatible above-ground pools and spas. With a 9 lb tablet capacity, this chlorinator helps maintain proper chlorine or bromine levels by automatically feeding sanitizer into the pool water through the circulation system.

Designed for off-line installation, the CL220ABG connects using small feeder tubing instead of being installed directly into the main plumbing line. This makes it a practical option for many above-ground pool systems, especially where space or plumbing layout makes an in-line chlorinator difficult to install.

Ideal For

This chlorinator is ideal for above-ground pool owners, installers, and service technicians who want a simple automatic chemical feeder for slow-dissolving chlorine or bromine tablets. It is especially useful for new or existing above-ground pools and spas where steady sanitizer dosing is preferred over hand-feeding tablets directly into the skimmer or floater.

Key Features

9 lb Tablet Capacity

Holds up to 9 lb of slow-dissolving sanitizer tablets or sticks. The larger capacity helps reduce how often the feeder needs to be refilled during normal pool operation.

Off-Line Installation

Designed as an off-line chlorinator for above-ground pool systems. The unit connects to the plumbing using feeder lines, making it useful for equipment pads where direct in-line installation is not preferred.

Adjustable Feed Control

The built-in dial control valve allows users to adjust sanitizer output. This helps fine-tune chlorine or bromine delivery based on pool size, water temperature, usage, and sanitizer demand.

Easy-Lok™ Threaded Cover

The Easy-Lok™ threaded cover provides convenient access when adding tablets or sticks. The lid design helps make routine maintenance easier while supporting a secure closure.

Durable ABS Construction

Built with a durable ABS body designed for pool chemical environments. The corrosion-resistant construction helps support long-lasting performance outdoors.

Viton Seal for Reliable Closure

Hayward chlorinators are commonly built with a high-quality Viton seal to help provide dependable sealing performance. This helps reduce leaks and supports proper feeder operation.

Finger-Release Safety Catch

A unique finger-release catch provides added security when accessing the chlorinator. This helps prevent accidental opening and supports safer maintenance.

Benefits

The Hayward CL220ABG helps simplify pool sanitation by automatically feeding chlorine or bromine into the circulation system. This can reduce daily chemical maintenance, provide more consistent sanitizer levels, and help keep pool water cleaner and clearer.

Its off-line configuration makes it a flexible option for above-ground pool equipment setups, while the 9 lb capacity supports longer operation between refills. For best results, always install the feeder after the heater, follow Hayward’s installation instructions, and use only compatible slow-dissolving tablets or sticks.
