Product Overview

Direct water through your pool’s solar heating system with the Pentair 263047 three-way solar diverter valve. Designed for solar pool plumbing, this CPVC valve routes flow between the solar collectors and bypass line. Its drain-down design supports solar installations configured to let water drain from the collectors when solar heating is off.

The valve has 2-inch inside slip connections and accepts 2½-inch pipe over the outside of the ports, giving installers flexibility when matching existing plumbing. Its three-way layout also makes it a practical replacement when an existing solar valve body is worn or damaged. Confirm the pipe size and drain-down arrangement before ordering.

Installation Guidance

A solar valve must be installed in the correct position within the solar supply and bypass plumbing. The drain-down function depends on the complete system layout, including the collector elevation and associated plumbing; the valve alone does not make every solar system drain automatically.

Check the existing valve’s port size, pipe layout, flow direction, and actuator setup before replacement. If an actuator is used, set its rotation and valve stops to match the intended solar and bypass positions. Follow Pentair’s installation instructions and use a qualified pool professional for plumbing changes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a standard three-way valve?
It is Pentair’s three-way solar valve with drain-down. For a standard three-way 2-inch CPVC valve without that solar designation, verify the part number before ordering.

Does it include an actuator?
This listing is for the valve. An actuator or solar controller is not included unless separately specified.

Will it fit 2½-inch plumbing?
Pentair specifies a 2½-inch outside slip connection in addition to the 2-inch inside slip connection. Confirm your pipe and fitting arrangement before installation.

Will the solar panels drain when the system shuts off?
The valve supports drain-down in a properly designed and plumbed solar system. Panel drainage depends on the rest of the installation.
