Convert a compatible Pentair MasterTemp 125 pool and spa heater from liquid propane to natural gas with the genuine Pentair 461062 Gas Conversion Kit. This OEM kit provides the fuel-specific components required to permanently change an eligible 125,000-BTU heater from LP propane operation to natural gas.

Propane and natural gas operate at different supply pressures and require different fuel-metering components. A propane heater cannot be safely connected to natural gas without completing the proper manufacturer-approved conversion. Installing the correct Pentair kit helps maintain appropriate gas flow, burner performance, ignition reliability, and combustion characteristics after the fuel source is changed.

The 461062 kit is intended for compatible MasterTemp 125 heaters originally manufactured for propane operation. It is not a universal kit and should not be used with larger MasterTemp heaters, ETi heaters, MiniMax models, or equipment from another manufacturer.

Compatibility

This kit is designed for compatible propane versions of the Pentair MasterTemp 125 pool and spa heater. Compatibility must be confirmed using the heater’s complete model number, serial number, manufacturing date, fuel designation, gas valve, and burner-system configuration.

Do not order this kit based only on the heater’s appearance. Part 461062 does not convert a natural-gas heater to propane. The Pentair 461063 kit is used for the opposite conversion direction on compatible MasterTemp 125 heaters.

Installation Requirements

Conversion must be completed by a qualified gas-appliance or pool-heater technician. Electrical power and the propane supply must be shut off before service begins.

The technician must install the specified conversion components, connect the approved natural-gas supply, and verify inlet pressure, manifold pressure, ignition, burner operation, ventilation, and combustion performance. Every gas connection must be checked for leaks before the heater is operated.

The heater must also be relabeled to identify its new natural-gas configuration when required by the supplied instructions. Local fuel-gas codes, electrical codes, Pentair procedures, and utility requirements must be followed.

Never drill, modify, or substitute gas orifices or other fuel components. Incorrect conversion can create fire, explosion, carbon-monoxide, equipment-damage, and personal-injury hazards.
