The cartridge provides 150 square feet of filtration area to capture dirt, insects, hair, oils, sediment, and other suspended contaminants as water passes through the filter. Replacing a worn, damaged, or permanently clogged element can improve water clarity, reduce circulation resistance, and help the pool’s filtration system operate more effectively.
Unlike sand or diatomaceous earth filters, cartridge filters do not require backwashing. The element can be removed from the filter housing and cleaned with a garden hose, helping conserve water and simplify routine pool maintenance.
Part 018243F is the replacement cartridge element only. The filter tank, pump, lid, pressure gauge, O-ring, plumbing connections, and other equipment are not included.

Compatibility
The 018243F cartridge is designed for the following Raypak Protégé systems:
- RPCFP150 cartridge filter with single-speed pump
- RPCFP152 cartridge filter with two-speed pump
The pump configuration does not change the required replacement element. Both systems use the same 150-square-foot cartridge.
Confirm the complete filter model printed on the equipment label before ordering. Do not select a replacement cartridge based only on its appearance or approximate dimensions.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Turn off the circulation pump and relieve all pressure from the filter before opening the housing. Remove the cartridge and rinse between the pleats using a garden hose and an appropriate cartridge-cleaning nozzle.
For heavier oils, sunscreen, scale, or mineral buildup, use a cleaner approved for swimming-pool filter cartridges. Never use a pressure washer because excessive pressure can tear the media or damage the pleats.
Inspect the cartridge regularly for torn fabric, cracked end caps, collapsed pleats, damaged bands, or permanent discoloration. Replace the element when cleaning no longer restores normal circulation or when physical damage is visible.

Warranty Information
Warranty coverage is provided under Raypak’s current replacement-part warranty terms. Eligibility may require proof of purchase and proper installation in an approved Raypak application. Normal filter-media wear, improper cleaning, freezing, chemical damage, excessive pressure, and use in an incompatible filter may not be covered.
