Product Overview

The Jandy VS PlusHP Variable Speed Pump | VSPHP270DV2A is a professional-grade variable speed pool pump designed for efficient, high-performance circulation in compatible residential pool and spa systems. With a 2.7 HP motor, dual-voltage 230/115V capability, and 2 AUX relays, this pump is built for pool professionals who need flexible installation options and advanced pump control capability.

This model is supplied without a controller, making it ideal for installations where a compatible Jandy automation system or separate control solution is already being used or specified by the installer.

Because variable speed pumps, automation systems, electrical requirements, and plumbing layouts must be matched correctly, this product should be selected and installed by a qualified pool professional.

Benefits

The Jandy VS PlusHP VSPHP270DV2A helps improve pool circulation efficiency by allowing pump speed to be adjusted to the needs of the system. When properly installed and programmed, a variable speed pump can reduce energy use compared with traditional single-speed operation while still supporting filtration, heating, water features, spa operation, and other circulation needs.

The 2.7 HP motor provides strong performance for compatible pool and spa systems, while the 230/115V capability gives installers more flexibility when matching the pump to existing electrical service.

The included 2 AUX relays provide additional control capability for compatible professional installations. Since this model does not include a controller, it is best suited for systems where a qualified installer has already specified the control method.

Variable Speed Pump Advantage

A variable speed pump can operate at different speeds instead of running at one fixed speed. This allows the pump to be programmed for different tasks, such as filtration, heating, spa mode, water features, or cleaning cycles.

Lower-speed operation can often reduce energy use and noise while maintaining circulation. Higher-speed operation can be used when the system requires more flow, such as for spa jets, heaters, priming, or certain water features.

Actual savings and performance depend on system design, plumbing, equipment, run schedule, and programming.

Recommended Use

Use the Jandy VS PlusHP VSPHP270DV2A when a pool professional has specified a 2.7 HP variable speed pump for a compatible pool or spa system and a separate control method is already planned.

This model is especially useful for professional equipment pad installations where variable speed operation, dual-voltage compatibility, and auxiliary relay capability are required.

For systems needing a pump with an included controller, a different model or accessory may be required.

Installation Notes

This pump should be installed by a qualified pool professional or licensed electrician. Installation may involve high-voltage wiring, voltage configuration, bonding, grounding, plumbing connections, priming, automation/control wiring, AUX relay setup, pump programming, and startup testing.

Professional installation is required to ensure:

Correct voltage selection and wiring
Proper bonding and grounding
Correct plumbing connection and flow direction
Proper pump priming and startup
Safe AUX relay wiring and configuration
Compatible automation or control setup
Correct speed programming for filtration, heating, and other features
Verification that connected pool equipment can handle the flow
Leak-free installation and safe operation

Improper installation may cause electrical hazards, pump failure, equipment damage, poor circulation, automation issues, water leaks, or voided warranty coverage.
