Restore proper internal air removal in a compatible Pentair cartridge filter with the Pentair 170030 Air-Bleed Tube Assembly. This genuine Pentair replacement component is designed specifically for the Clean & Clear Plus 240-square-foot cartridge filter, commonly identified as model CCP240.
The internal air-bleed assembly helps direct trapped air from inside the filter toward the manual air-relief system at the top of the tank. Removing accumulated air supports consistent water circulation through the cartridges and helps the filter operate as designed.
A cracked, disconnected, clogged, or missing air-bleed tube may allow air to remain trapped inside the filter tank. Possible symptoms include excessive air beneath the lid, inconsistent pressure readings, reduced filtration performance, air returning to the pool, or difficulty completely purging the filter after servicing.
Part 170030 replaces the internal tube assembly only. It does not include the external High Flow manual air-relief valve, pressure gauge, filter lid, top manifold, cartridges, or tank components.

Compatibility
The 170030 assembly is intended for the Pentair Clean & Clear Plus 240-square-foot cartridge filter. Larger CCP320, CCP420, and CCP520 filters may use different internal air-bleed components.
Confirm the complete filter model shown on the tank label before ordering. Do not select this part based only on the appearance of the existing tube or the outside dimensions of the filter tank.
Installation Information
Turn off the circulation pump and disconnect power before opening the filter. Open the manual air-relief valve and verify that the pressure gauge reads zero before loosening the tank clamp.
Remove the upper tank section according to Pentair’s instructions. Inspect the cartridges, top manifold, internal tube connections, and air-bleed screen for damage or blockage. Install the replacement assembly in the original position and confirm that every connection is secure.
Before reassembly, inspect and lubricate the tank O-ring with a manufacturer-approved silicone lubricant. Reinstall the tank lid and clamp exactly as instructed by Pentair.
Restart the pump with the manual air-relief valve open. Close the valve only after a steady stream of water appears. Never open a pressurized filter.
