Compatibility

This replacement power end is intended for compatible Pentair IntelliFlo 2 variable-speed pumps.

Because Pentair has produced several generations of IntelliFlo pumps with different motors, drives and internal components, customers should verify their existing pump model before ordering.

Do not order based on appearance alone.

If you are unsure whether this power end is compatible with your existing IntelliFlo pump, provide the complete pump model number and a photo of the existing pump identification label before ordering.

When Should the Power End Be Replaced?

Replacing the complete power end can be an economical repair option when the existing variable-speed drive is still operational but the motor-side portion of the pump has failed.

Common symptoms may include:

• Failed pump motor
• Loud or damaged motor bearings
• Motor will not rotate
• Excessive vibration
• Mechanical damage to the power end
• Damaged impeller or internal components
• Repeated shaft-seal leakage that has damaged the motor
• Existing drive operates properly but the motor assembly requires replacement

Installation / Upgrade Information

Installation should be performed by a qualified pool equipment technician.

Before installation, the existing variable-speed drive should be tested and confirmed to be operational. The drive must be removed from the original motor and correctly installed onto the replacement power end.

Always disconnect power to the pool equipment at the circuit breaker before servicing the pump.

After installation, inspect all seals, gaskets, electrical connections and pump components before restarting the circulation system. Prime the pump according to Pentair's recommended procedure before operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the variable-speed drive included?

No. This power end is sold WITHOUT the drive. The existing compatible drive must be reused or purchased separately.

Does it include the control keypad?

No. The drive and keypad/control components are not included.

Is this a complete IntelliFlo pump?

No. This is a complete replacement power end, not an entire pump. The existing pump housing/strainer section is reused.

Can I reuse my existing IntelliFlo drive?

Yes, provided the existing drive is compatible and has been tested to confirm that it is functioning properly.

Will this fit every Pentair IntelliFlo pump?

No. Pentair has manufactured several IntelliFlo generations and configurations. Compatibility should be verified using the pump model before ordering.

Why replace the power end instead of the complete pump?

If the pump housing, plumbing and variable-speed drive are still in good condition, replacing the power end can restore the pump without requiring replacement of the complete pump assembly.
