How to read Jandy model numbers

VSFHP = VS FloPro, VSPHP = VS PlusHP, VSSHP = ePump.
The number after it is the horsepower: 185 = 1.85 HP, 270 = 2.7 HP.
2A means the pump has two built-in auxiliary relays to run other equipment such as a booster pump or salt system.
A trailing S means the pump ships with the SpeedSet controller, so you can set speeds and schedules right at the pump without automation.

Which Jandy pump is right for my pool?

For most residential pools, a 1.85 or 2.7 HP VS FloPro covers normal filtration while running at low speed most of the day. Choose 2.7 HP or larger for pool/spa combos, spillovers, water features or long plumbing runs. If you have AquaLink automation, a model without SpeedSet can be controlled from your system; if you don't, pick a SpeedSet model. What is the difference between VS FloPro and VS PlusHP?
Both are Jandy variable speed pumps. VS FloPro is the core residential line in several horsepower sizes; VS PlusHP is built for higher-flow applications such as spas, water features and larger plumbing.

What does SpeedSet do?
SpeedSet is Jandy's on-pump controller. It lets you program speeds and run schedules at the pump, which is useful if you don't have automation.

Will a Jandy VS pump work with my AquaLink?
Yes, Jandy variable speed pumps are designed to communicate with compatible AquaLink RS and iAquaLink systems. Check your AquaLink revision if your system is older.
