Product Overview

Get powerful, dependable automatic pool cleaning with the Pentair Racer® Pressure-Side In-Ground Pool Cleaner | 360228. Engineered for residential in-ground swimming pools, the Racer combines high-powered debris removal, an oversized vacuum intake, an integrated rotating scrub brush, and four-venturi vacuum technology to provide thorough floor and wall cleaning.

The Racer operates from a dedicated pressure-side cleaner line and requires a booster pump, allowing it to clean independently without sending collected debris through the pool's main filtration system. Leaves, dirt, sand, and other debris are captured directly in the cleaner's debris bag, helping reduce additional loading on the pool filter.

Pentair designed the Racer with approximately 40% more vacuum intake area and nearly one-third more cleaning power than traditional pressure-side cleaners. Its large vacuum tube handles both fine debris and larger material, while the front rotating brush actively scrubs the pool surface as the cleaner travels.

Exclusive NightCruize® LED lights illuminate the cleaner during evening operation, while forward and reverse cleaning cycles help improve coverage throughout the pool.

Product Specifications

Powerful Pressure-Side Cleaning

The Racer uses pressurized water from a dedicated booster pump to create strong vacuum performance. Four venturis generate suction through the oversized vacuum tube, pulling debris from the pool surface and directing it into the cleaner's debris bag.

Because debris is collected directly by the Racer instead of traveling through the pool's filter, the cleaner can help reduce unnecessary filter loading during routine pool maintenance.

Active Rotating Brush

Unlike pressure-side cleaners that rely primarily on vacuum power, the Racer incorporates a front rotating brush that scrubs the pool surface while the unit travels.

This combination of scrubbing and vacuuming helps loosen dirt and debris for a more detailed cleaning.

Forward & Reverse Cleaning

The Pentair Racer automatically changes direction during operation. The cleaner periodically enters reverse mode before returning to forward operation, helping it move away from obstacles and improve overall pool coverage.

For proper performance, Pentair recommends adjusting cleaner speed according to the installation instructions and included flow gauge.

NightCruize® LED Lights

Integrated NightCruize LED lights provide an additional visual feature during evening cleaning. The lights are self-powered by the cleaner's operation and require no separate electrical connection.
