Product Overview

Replace the internal filter module in your Sta-Rite System:2 PLD50 with genuine Pentair part 27002-0030S. This 30-square-foot modular D.E. element is designed for the PLD50 pool and spa filter. It lets you replace a damaged or worn filtration module while keeping the existing filter tank and other serviceable parts.

The module supports the D.E. coating used by the PLD50 to filter pool water. Inspect the element during routine filter cleaning. Torn media, damage to the module, or D.E. returning to the pool may indicate that replacement is needed. Confirm PLD50 on the filter’s model label before ordering.

Compatibility & Specifications

Check your filter model: The PLD70 uses the 36 sq. ft. module, part 27002-0036S. These modules should be ordered by the exact filter model, not by the appearance of the tank.

Installation & Maintenance

Turn off the pump and release all pressure through the air relief valve before opening the filter. Remove the existing module according to the PLD filter manual. Inspect the tank O-ring, closure ring, air bleed assembly, and related components while the filter is open.

Install the new module, reassemble the tank correctly, and vent trapped air during startup. The PLD50 requires a D.E. precoat after the module has been cleaned or replaced. Pentair specifies 6 lb of D.E. for the PLD50; follow the procedure in the manual for adding it. Do not operate the filter without the required D.E. coating. pentair.com
