Product Overview

The Pentair WhisperFloXF VS 5HP Motor with Fan Shroud | 358089 is a genuine Pentair replacement motor assembly designed for compatible Pentair WhisperFloXF VS variable speed pool pumps. This replacement motor is used when the existing motor assembly has failed, worn out, or needs to be replaced while the rest of the pump system remains serviceable.

This part includes the motor and fan shroud only. It is not a complete pump, and it does not include the drive kit, keypad, wet end, impeller, diffuser, seal plate, or shaft seal.

Because pool pump motor fitment depends on the exact pump model and motor label, this part should not be ordered by horsepower alone. Always confirm your existing pump model and motor part number before purchasing.

Compatibility Guidance

This motor is designed for compatible Pentair WhisperFloXF VS pump systems.

Before ordering, verify the following:

You have a Pentair WhisperFloXF VS pump.
Your existing motor part number matches or crosses to 358089.
Your pump requires a 5HP variable speed replacement motor assembly.
You need the motor and fan shroud, not the drive kit or complete pump.
Your pump wet end, seal plate, impeller, diffuser, and drive components are reusable or being replaced separately.
Your existing motor label and pump label match the required replacement part.
A qualified pool professional or electrician can complete the installation if needed.

Do not order this part based on horsepower alone. WhisperFloXF pump parts are model-specific, and ordering the wrong motor can result in fitment issues, installation delays, or equipment damage.

Confirm Before Ordering

Before purchasing, please confirm:

You need part number 358089.
Your pump is a compatible Pentair WhisperFloXF VS model.
You are replacing the motor assembly, not the drive or wet end.
You understand this is not a complete pump.

Benefits

The Pentair 358089 WhisperFloXF VS Motor with Fan Shroud allows compatible WhisperFloXF VS pumps to be repaired without replacing the entire pump assembly. This can be a practical repair option when the pump housing, plumbing, and wet end are still in good condition.

Using an OEM Pentair replacement motor helps ensure proper fitment and performance when matched to the correct pump model. The included fan shroud helps support cooling and motor protection during operation.

This replacement is especially useful for pool owners and service professionals who need to restore high-flow circulation while keeping the existing compatible WhisperFloXF VS pump system in place.

Recommended Use

Use this motor when your compatible Pentair WhisperFloXF VS pump requires motor replacement and the remaining pump components are still serviceable.

During installation, inspect related wear parts such as the shaft seal, O-rings, gaskets, impeller, diffuser, and seal plate. Replacing worn seals during motor replacement is strongly recommended to help prevent leaks and protect the new motor.

Installation Notes

This replacement motor should be installed by a qualified pool professional or licensed electrician. Pool pump motor replacement may involve electrical wiring, bonding, grounding, pump disassembly, seal replacement, drive inspection, and startup testing.

Professional installation is recommended to ensure:

Correct electrical wiring
Proper bonding and grounding
Correct motor alignment
Proper shaft seal replacement
Leak-free pump reassembly
Safe startup and testing
Protection of the new motor from water intrusion
Verification that the pump drive and related components are working correctly

Improper installation may cause leaks, electrical hazards, equipment damage, premature motor failure, or voided warranty coverage.

Important Replacement Note

This product is a replacement motor with fan shroud. It is not the same as a drive kit, keypad assembly, top cover kit, wet end assembly, or complete replacement pump.

If your pump issue is related to the control drive, display, keypad, impeller, diffuser, seal plate, or wet end, additional or different replacement parts may be required.
