Product Overview

The Purity Pool GTTD 24-Inch Gator Leaf Rake with Tuff Duty Bag is a professional-grade pool-cleaning tool designed for removing large amounts of leaves, debris, twigs, and other material from swimming pools, spas, fountains, and ponds.

Its oversized 24-inch-wide frame covers more area with every pass, helping pool professionals and homeowners complete heavy cleanups faster. The Gator is approximately four inches wider than Purity Pool’s popular Red Baron rake, allowing it to collect larger debris loads and reduce the number of passes required across the pool.

The included Tuff Duty bag is made from Purity Pool’s most abrasion-resistant net material. Its traditional-size mesh provides low drag through the water while delivering the durability needed for frequent use on rough plaster, exposed aggregate, pebble, and other abrasive pool surfaces.

Benefits

The larger frame and deep net make the GTTD an excellent choice for seasonal cleanups, storm debris, heavy leaf accumulation, and high-use commercial pools. Its wide opening allows technicians to collect substantial debris loads without constantly emptying the bag.

The Tuff Duty material is engineered to tolerate more abrasion than standard netting. This is especially valuable when the rake is repeatedly dragged across rough interior finishes that can quickly wear through lighter-duty bags.

Purity Pool uses durable, lightweight aluminum alloys in its professional rake frames instead of heavier stainless steel. This provides the strength needed for demanding service work without making the tool unnecessarily difficult to maneuver.

The reinforced handle area distributes pressure along the frame, helping reduce bending and premature wear during large debris pickups. Replaceable components also allow the rake to be renewed rather than discarded when the bag or leading edge eventually wears.

Use and Maintenance

Attach the rake securely to a compatible telescoping pool pole. Move the rake smoothly across the pool floor or through floating debris, allowing water to pass through the mesh while leaves and larger material collect inside the bag.

Avoid forcing the rake against sharp objects or damaged pool surfaces. Empty the bag regularly when collecting heavy debris to reduce strain on the frame and pole connection.

After use, rinse the rake with fresh water to remove chlorine, salt, dirt, and chemical residue. Allow the bag to dry before storage and inspect the frame, leading edge, spring lock, and mesh for wear.

Warranty Information

Customer-Facing Q&A

Q: Does this include a telescoping pole?
A: No. This listing includes the leaf rake only.

Q: What makes the Tuff Duty bag different?
A: It uses Purity Pool’s most abrasion-resistant material and is designed for demanding use on rough pool finishes.

Q: Can the bag be replaced?
A: Yes. Purity Pool offers replacement and ReNew components for compatible Gator rakes.

Q: Is this intended for fine dirt and silt?
A: No. The traditional mesh is best for leaves and larger debris. A dedicated silt-bag model is better for very fine material.
