Product Overview

The Century B128 Pool Pump Motor is a full-rated 1 HP replacement motor designed for compatible pool and spa pump applications. This motor features single-phase power, single-speed operation, 230/115V dual-voltage compatibility, and 60Hz operation.

The B128 uses an M56J / 56J C-face frame with a threaded shaft, making it a common replacement motor for compatible pool pumps that require a 56J threaded-shaft motor. It is built with a permanent split capacitor design, open drip-proof enclosure, automatic thermal protection, and a stainless steel threaded shaft for pool and spa pump service.

Ideal For

• Pool pump motor replacement

Benefits

The Century B128 helps restore reliable pool circulation when the existing pump motor has failed, become noisy, overheated, or stopped starting properly. If the pump housing, impeller, diffuser, seal plate, and plumbing are still in good condition, replacing the motor can be a cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire pump.

The dual-voltage design gives installers flexibility for either 115V or 230V systems, while the 56J C-face threaded-shaft design makes this motor compatible with many common pool and spa pump wet ends.

For pool professionals, the B128 is a practical replacement motor for compatible 1 HP full-rated pump repairs.

Installation Notes

This motor should be installed by a qualified pool professional or licensed electrician. Turn off all power at the breaker before servicing the pump.

When replacing a pump motor, inspect the shaft seal, seal plate, diffuser, impeller, gaskets, O-rings, wiring, conduit, and bonding connection. It is strongly recommended to replace the shaft seal any time the motor is replaced to help prevent water from leaking into the new motor.

After installation, verify correct voltage wiring, bonding, grounding, motor rotation, pump priming, pressure, flow, and leak-free operation. Incorrect voltage, improper wiring, or mismatched impeller sizing can damage the motor.
