Benefits

The PSD VST PowerEnd upgrade gives customers a practical way to modernize a compatible WhisperFlo pump without replacing the entire pump assembly. By keeping the existing wet end and plumbing in place, the installer can upgrade the motor-side assembly and restore circulation with variable speed control.

Variable speed operation allows the pump to run at lower RPMs for everyday filtration, which can help lower energy consumption, reduce noise, and improve overall system control compared to a standard single-speed pump.

Specifications

Confirm Before Ordering

Please confirm the existing pump model, wet end condition, horsepower, voltage, seal plate, impeller compatibility, shaft seal requirements, and equipment pad setup before ordering. This is a PowerEnd upgrade kit, not a complete pump.

Professional installation is recommended to verify correct fitment, wiring, programming, shaft seal condition, and proper pump operation.

Customer-Facing Q&A

Is this a complete pump?
No. This is a complete PowerEnd upgrade kit. It is designed to reuse a compatible existing WhisperFlo wet end and plumbing.

What does this upgrade do?
It upgrades a compatible WhisperFlo single-speed pump setup to a 2.6 THP variable speed PowerEnd.

Does this include the wet end?
No. The wet end, strainer housing, and plumbing connections are not included.

Will this fit every WhisperFlo pump?
No. Compatibility must be confirmed by pump model, wet end condition, seal plate, impeller, voltage, and existing setup before ordering.

Why upgrade to variable speed?
Variable speed operation can reduce energy use, lower pump noise, and allow more control over filtration, cleaning, heating, and water feature operation.

Should the shaft seal be replaced during installation?
Yes. It is strongly recommended to replace the shaft seal when installing a new PowerEnd or motor assembly.

Does this require professional installation?
Yes. Professional installation is recommended because wiring, fitment, seal replacement, and programming must be completed correctly.
