Key Features

36 sq. ft. DE Filtration Area

The 36 square foot effective filtration area provides excellent debris capture and water clarity for residential pool and spa systems.

Superior DE Water Clarity

Diatomaceous earth filtration is known for capturing very fine particles, helping produce cleaner, clearer pool water than standard sand filtration.

Durable Glass-Reinforced Co-Polymer Tank

The filter tank is made from strong, corrosion-resistant glass-reinforced co-polymer material designed for demanding pool equipment environments.

High-Impact Vertical Grid Elements

The internal grid elements are designed for up-flow filtration and top-down backwashing for efficient performance.

Rapid-Release Manual Air Relief

A high-capacity manual air relief valve helps bleed trapped air quickly with a quarter-turn lever.

One-Piece Flange Clamp

The heavy-duty, tamper-proof clamp securely fastens the tank top and bottom while allowing access to internal components for cleaning and service.

Self-Aligned Tank Design

The tank top and bottom are designed to align easily, helping make servicing the grid assembly faster and simpler.

2" Full-Flow Internal Plumbing

Full-flow internal piping helps reduce flow resistance and supports efficient system performance.

Valve Flexibility

The filter can be paired with compatible Hayward multiport or slide valve options depending on the pool system’s plumbing setup.

Benefits

The Hayward W3DE3620 is a strong choice for pool owners who want the fine filtration performance of DE with a durable, service-friendly filter body. DE filters are especially valued for producing sparkling water clarity by trapping smaller particles than many other filter types.

With its 36 sq. ft. filtration area, 4.5 lb DE charge, 90 GPM residential design flow rate, and reinforced tank construction, this model is well suited for in-ground pool and spa systems when properly matched with the pump, plumbing, and valve.
