Product Overview

The Hayward SPX3200UNKIT Union Connector Kit is a genuine OEM replacement plumbing connection kit designed for select Hayward EcoStar, TriStar, and NorthStar pool pumps.

This kit is used to create secure, serviceable plumbing connections between the pump and the pool circulation system. It is an ideal replacement when the original union fittings are cracked, leaking, damaged, worn, or missing.

Using the correct OEM Hayward union kit helps maintain proper fit and alignment around the pump inlet and discharge connections. Union-style connections also make future pump removal and maintenance easier because the pump can be disconnected without cutting the surrounding PVC plumbing.

The SPX3200UNKIT is a practical replacement part for pump repairs, equipment-pad upgrades, and new installations using compatible Hayward pump models.

Compatibility can vary by specific pump model and production generation. Always verify the pump model and existing plumbing connection before ordering.

Common Reasons for Replacement

The SPX3200UNKIT may be needed when:

• Existing pump unions are cracked
• Water is leaking around the union connection
• Original union fittings are missing
• Installing a compatible replacement Hayward pump
• Rebuilding or modifying an equipment pad
• Plumbing connections are worn or damaged
• Existing unions no longer seal correctly

Installation Information

Before servicing the pump, turn off electrical power and relieve all pressure from the pool circulation system.

Inspect the plumbing alignment and sealing surfaces before installing the new union components. Make sure all mating surfaces are clean and properly seated before tightening the union connections.

Union nuts should be tightened securely without excessive force. Over-tightening plastic plumbing components can result in cracking or damage.

After installation, restart the circulation system and inspect all connections for leaks.

Professional installation is recommended if PVC plumbing modifications are required.

Customer-Facing Q&A

Q: Is SPX3200UNKIT a genuine Hayward part?
A: Yes. SPX3200UNKIT is a genuine Hayward OEM replacement union connector kit.

Q: What pumps does this kit fit?
A: It is designed for select Hayward EcoStar, TriStar, and NorthStar pumps.

Q: Will it fit every Hayward pump?
A: No. Hayward uses different plumbing connections across its pump families. Verify your exact pump model before ordering.

Q: Why use pump unions?
A: Union fittings allow the pump to be disconnected from the plumbing without cutting PVC pipe, making future maintenance and replacement easier.

Q: Can a leaking pump union cause performance problems?
A: Yes. A suction-side leak may allow air into the circulation system, while a pressure-side leak may allow water to escape. Replacing damaged union components can help restore a secure plumbing connection.
