Product Overview

The Pentair A&A 6 Port Low Profile Retro Kit | 230066 is an OEM retrofit kit designed for compatible Pentair In-Floor / formerly A&A Manufacturing 6-port low-profile actuator valves. This kit is used to update, rebuild, or retrofit older low-profile water valves that originally used large acrylic balls at the bottom of the valve.

The retrofit kit converts compatible older valve assemblies from acrylic-ball operation to the newer T-valve style design, helping improve water distribution, zone operation, and long-term serviceability in compatible in-floor cleaning systems. It is designed specifically for 6-port side-feed / low-profile A&A water valves and should not be used on 2-port, 3-port, or standard-profile valve assemblies.

The kit includes major retrofit components such as the upper housing with speed control, diverter, gear plate with 10 gears, cam, shim, gear retainer clip, screws, and anti-friction washers. Public product listings identify UPC 818965010466 for Pentair part 230066.

Benefits

The Pentair 230066 retro kit helps extend the service life of compatible 6-port low-profile A&A water valves. Older acrylic-ball style valves can wear, stick, lose efficiency, or fail to distribute water correctly through the cleaning zones.

By retrofitting the valve with updated internal components, this kit can help restore zone rotation and improve the performance of an in-floor cleaning system. The gear plate with 10 gears helps distribute wear more evenly, while the included diverter and speed control components support proper zone timing and water movement.

For pool professionals, this kit is a practical solution when servicing older A&A low-profile 6-port valves where the valve body and plumbing are still usable.

Compatibility Notes

The Pentair 230066 is designed for compatible 6-port low-profile Pentair / A&A actuator valves.

Common compatibility references include:

• Pentair In-Floor cleaning systems
• Former A&A Manufacturing in-floor systems
• 6-port low-profile actuator valves
• 6-port side-feed A&A water valves
• Older A&A valves with large acrylic balls at the bottom
• Retrofit applications replacing legacy part 540242
• Low-profile actuator valve components requiring part 230066

This kit is not universal. It is specific to 6-port low-profile valve assemblies and is not interchangeable with 2-port, 3-port, top-feed, or standard-profile valve kits.

Always confirm port count, valve profile, feed orientation, existing valve design, and parts diagram before ordering.

Installation Notes

This kit should be installed by a qualified pool professional. Turn off the pool pump and relieve all system pressure before opening the actuator valve.

Before installation, verify that the existing valve is a compatible 6-port low-profile A&A / Pentair actuator valve. Inspect the valve base, sealing surfaces, internal wear points, O-rings, plumbing connections, and all related valve components before installing the retrofit kit.

After installation, restart the system and verify proper zone cycling, water distribution, in-floor head operation, and leak-free valve performance.
