Product Overview

The Pentair IntelliCenter 523682 is a complete i5PS pool and spa automation system designed for shared-equipment pool/spa combinations. It combines Pentair's IntelliCenter automation platform with a Common Load Center, five high-voltage relays, and two Compool valve actuators for centralized control of pumps, heaters, lighting, water features, valves, and other pool equipment.

The i5PS configuration is designed for a pool and spa that share filtration and heating equipment. It includes five relays total: one dedicated filter-pump relay plus four auxiliary circuits.

This model is the non-salt version. It does not include an IntelliChlor salt cell or IntelliChlor transformer. Pentair identifies its non-salt Load Center configuration as being without salt-chlorine-generator support.

Specifications

i5PS Configuration Explained

The PS designation means the system is intended for a pool/spa combination using shared equipment. Pentair's i5PS configuration provides five relay-controlled circuits:

Filter Pump + AUX 1 + AUX 2 + AUX 3 + AUX 4

This makes it well suited for installations involving equipment such as a variable-speed pump, heater, pool/spa lighting, booster pump, water feature or other relay-controlled equipment.

523682 vs. 523683

A key distinction for customers:

Pentair lists both versions and confirms that each includes two Compool valve actuators.

Installation Notes

The 523682 is intended for permanent installation at the pool equipment pad. Because it contains line-voltage equipment and controls multiple pool electrical loads, installation should be completed in accordance with Pentair instructions and applicable electrical codes.

This is particularly important when connecting pumps, heaters, lighting transformers, valve actuators and additional auxiliary equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Pentair 523682 include a salt cell?

How many relays does the i5PS have?
Five total: one filter-pump relay and four auxiliary relays.

Is this for a pool only?
No. The i5PS configuration is primarily designed for a pool/spa combination using shared equipment.

Can the system control a variable-speed Pentair pump?
Yes. IntelliCenter is designed to integrate with compatible Pentair pumps and other connected pool equipment.

Can the system be expanded later?
Yes. IntelliCenter is designed as an expandable automation platform, allowing additional control capabilities and accessories to be incorporated depending on the installation.
