Product Overview

The Pentair 77707-0008 insulation kit provides replacement insulation and related service components for the burner and combustion chamber area of compatible Pentair MasterTemp and Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm pool and spa heaters. It is intended for heater repairs where the existing insulation has been damaged, disturbed, or must be replaced during combustion chamber service.

Pentair lists this part in the burner system replacement diagrams for both heater families. The kit includes insulation pieces along with a clamp assembly, O-ring, and silicone tube. The numbered insulation components differ between the MasterTemp and Max-E-Therm diagrams, so use the instructions and parts diagram for the heater being serviced.

Compatibility and Service Notes

Confirm the heater’s full model number, serial number, and combustion chamber design before ordering. Pentair documents both clamp-lid and later nine-bolt-lid designs in its heater parts information. Check the applicable parts diagram and service instructions, especially if the heater has had a previous heat exchanger or combustion chamber repair.

This kit is for internal heater service. It is not the separately listed lower enclosure insulation, 42001-0074S, or a complete burner or heat exchanger assembly. If insulation is scorched or deteriorating, the technician should also determine why it failed before returning the heater to operation.

Professional installation recommended: Gas heater combustion chamber work affects the heater’s seals and exhaust path. Have a qualified pool heater technician install the kit and inspect the completed assembly according to Pentair’s instructions.
