Product Overview

The Hayward PSV2S3 PSV Series 2-Port Diverter Valve is designed to provide dependable water-flow control in large residential and commercial pool, spa, and water-feature plumbing systems.

Featuring a true 3-inch plumbing configuration, this valve supports high-flow applications while helping minimize unnecessary restriction and hydraulic head loss. The two-port design can be used to regulate or shut off flow through a single plumbing line, making it suitable for equipment isolation, bypass plumbing, return lines, suction lines, and water-feature control.

An easy-to-read dial-index handle clearly shows the selected valve position and locks into place for consistent operation. The valve can be operated manually or paired with a compatible Hayward GVA-24 valve actuator for integration with supported pool automation systems.

Installation Information

Professional installation is recommended, particularly on high-flow 3-inch plumbing systems.

Before installation:

1. Shut off the circulation pump and disconnect electrical power.
2. Relieve all pressure from the filtration and plumbing system.
3. Verify that a two-port valve is correct for the intended application.
4. Confirm that the plumbing and fittings match the valve’s 3-inch connection size.
5. Determine the correct valve position and handle orientation.
6. Dry-fit the complete plumbing arrangement before cementing.
7. Use primer and solvent cement approved for the applicable pipe and valve materials.
8. Prevent excess cement from entering the valve body.
9. Support the surrounding plumbing to avoid placing stress on the valve.
10. Allow all glued connections to cure fully before starting the pump.
11. Inspect the system for leaks after installation.
12. Confirm that the valve operates freely through its intended range.

When installing a Hayward GVA-24 actuator, verify the actuator mounting position, internal stops, rotation direction, and automation programming before placing the system into normal operation.

Confirm Before Ordering

• Confirm Hayward model number PSV2S3.
• Verify that a two-port diverter valve is required.
• Confirm the plumbing size is 3 inches.
• Do not confuse this model with smaller PSV Series valves.
• Confirm that the system flow requirement is within the valve’s capabilities.
• Verify the available installation clearance.
• Determine the required plumbing and handle orientation.
• Confirm compatibility with the existing pipe and fittings.
• Verify whether adapters or reducers will be required.
• Order the Hayward GVA-24 separately if automated operation is needed.
• Do not assume the actuator is included.
• Have the completed plumbing professionally inspected and tested.

Warranty Information

The Hayward PSV2S3 is covered by Hayward’s applicable limited manufacturer warranty.

Warranty duration and eligibility may vary depending on where the product is purchased, who installs it, and whether it is installed as part of a qualifying Hayward system. Proof of purchase and professional installation documentation may be required for warranty service.

Damage resulting from improper installation, incompatible cement, excessive plumbing stress, freeze damage, improper actuator adjustment, unauthorized modification, or operation outside the product’s intended application may not be covered.

Keep the original purchase receipt and installation invoice.
