Benefits

The Hayward PBS20JSTHBX gives pool owners a practical way to restore their 2-wheel suction cleaner without buying a complete cleaner package. If the existing hoses are still in good condition, replacing only the headbox can save money and reduce unnecessary part replacement.

A worn cleaner head can cause poor movement, weak debris pickup, poor climbing, repeated sticking, or failure to steer correctly. Replacing the head assembly can help restore the cleaner’s ability to move across the pool and collect debris through the suction system.

For pool professionals, this head-only replacement is a useful repair option when servicing Poolvergnuegen or Hayward The PoolCleaner 2-Wheel systems.

Always confirm that your existing cleaner is a 2-wheel suction model before ordering. This item is not intended for 4-wheel cleaner models or robotic cleaners.

Installation Notes

Before installing the replacement head, inspect the existing hoses, leader hose, regulator valve, skimmer adapter, suction line, and cleaner fittings for cracks, air leaks, or restrictions. A new cleaner head may not perform correctly if the hose set or suction source is damaged.

Connect the existing compatible hose assembly to the replacement head and adjust suction flow according to the cleaner instructions. Proper suction balance is important for cleaner movement, steering, and debris pickup.

If the cleaner does not move properly after replacement, check pump suction, filter pressure, hose length, hose condition, cleaner tire condition, and suction-side air leaks.
