Product Overview

The Hayward Power-Flo LX W3SP1580X15 is a dependable single-speed circulation pump designed primarily for above-ground and on-ground swimming pools. It combines durable construction, quiet operation, and straightforward maintenance in a compact pump package suitable for filtration systems using standard 115V electrical service.

This model has traditionally been identified as a 1.5 HP Power-Flo LX pump. Current Hayward literature lists it as a 1.1 total-horsepower model to align with updated Department of Energy pump-rating standards, while maintaining the performance associated with the legacy 1.5 HP version.

The pump includes a factory-installed 3-foot standard grounded power cord, allowing it to connect to a compatible 115V GFCI-protected receptacle without field hardwiring. A separate twist-lock version is available under a different model number, so plug configuration should be confirmed before ordering.

The Power-Flo LX features a clear strainer cover, oversized debris basket, corrosion-resistant housing, and thermally protected motor. It is intended for residential pool circulation and should be matched to the filter, plumbing size, pool volume, and hydraulic requirements of the installation.

Benefits

The Power-Flo LX is designed to provide reliable daily circulation while keeping operation and maintenance simple. Its large debris basket captures leaves and other material before they reach the impeller, helping reduce cleaning frequency and protect pump performance.

The transparent lid allows the basket condition to be checked without opening the pump. When cleaning is required, the quick-access cover allows the basket to be removed and rinsed with minimal disassembly.

Its corrosion-resistant housing is well suited for outdoor pool environments, while the thermally protected motor helps protect against overheating under qualifying operating conditions. Hayward positions the Power-Flo LX as a value-focused pump offering dependable, quiet performance for above-ground pool systems.

Installation Information

Place the pump on a stable, level surface close to the pool and below the normal water level whenever possible. Use properly sized suction and return plumbing, and ensure all connections are airtight.

Connect the pump only to a correctly grounded, GFCI-protected 115V receptacle that meets applicable electrical and pool-safety codes. Do not use an extension cord unless specifically permitted by the manufacturer and local code.

Fill the strainer housing with water before startup. Never operate the pump dry, as dry operation may damage the shaft seal and internal components.

Confirm Before Ordering

Verify the following:

• Your pool is above-ground or on-ground.
• Your electrical supply is 115V.
• You need a standard three-prong plug, not a twist-lock plug.
• A 3-foot cord reaches the approved receptacle.
• Your filter and plumbing are compatible with the pump’s flow.
• You require model W3SP1580X15.
• The current 1.1 THP rating is acceptable as the replacement for the legacy 1.5 HP model.

Warranty Information

The Hayward W3SP1580X15 is covered by a one-year limited parts warranty, subject to Hayward’s current written terms, purchase channel, and installation requirements.

Warranty coverage does not include dry operation, freeze damage, improper voltage, blocked plumbing, chemical damage, unauthorized modification, misuse, or installation that does not comply with applicable codes.
