Product Overview

The Hayward TriStar® VS W3SP3202VSP is a high-performance 1.85 HP variable-speed pool pump designed for residential in-ground pools. Built for strong, efficient circulation, this pump helps support filtration, heating, sanitization, cleaning systems, and everyday pool water movement.

With variable-speed operation, a permanent magnet totally enclosed fan-cooled motor, and programmable controls, the TriStar VS gives pool owners better control over pump performance while helping reduce energy use compared with traditional single-speed pumps.

High-Efficiency Variable-Speed Performance

The TriStar VS is engineered to deliver powerful water movement while operating more efficiently than many standard single-speed pumps. Its variable-speed design allows the pump to run at lower speeds for routine filtration and higher speeds when stronger flow is needed.

This makes it a strong choice for pool owners who want quieter daily operation, improved energy savings, and flexible performance for different pool system demands.

Built for Medium to Large In-Ground Pools

The Hayward TriStar VS W3SP3202VSP is designed for medium to large residential in-ground pool systems. It is commonly used for pools with higher flow needs, including systems with heaters, sanitizers, water features, in-floor cleaning systems, solar heating, and pool/spa combinations.

Its high-performance hydraulic design makes it a practical replacement option for many existing high-performance pumps.

Product Benefits

Energy-Saving Operation

Variable-speed technology allows the pump to run at lower speeds during routine filtration, which can help reduce energy usage compared with single-speed pump operation.

Strong Circulation Performance

With a 1.85 THP rating and high-performance hydraulic design, the TriStar VS is well suited for medium to large residential pool systems with demanding circulation needs.

Quiet Daily Filtration

Lower-speed operation helps reduce pump noise during normal filtration cycles, creating a quieter pool equipment environment.

Flexible Control Options

The programmable control interface allows users to adjust speed and runtime settings. The control interface can be positioned for easier visibility and access depending on the installation layout.

Easier Maintenance

An extra-large debris basket helps capture leaves and debris while reducing how often the basket needs to be cleaned.
