Product Overview

The Jandy Pro Series 2"–2.5" 2-Way Never Lube Valve | 4716 is a durable, maintenance-free diverter valve designed for residential and commercial swimming pool and spa plumbing systems.

Built with Jandy's proven Never Lube technology, the 4716 eliminates the routine lubrication required by traditional pool valves. Its durable CPVC construction is engineered to withstand harsh pool environments, including exposure to chlorine, pool chemicals, changing temperatures, and continuous water circulation.

The Jandy 4716 features a 2-way positive-seal diverter design, making it ideal for controlling, directing, or shutting off water flow between pool equipment and plumbing circuits.

Its versatile port configuration accommodates both 2-inch and 2½-inch plumbing, making it an excellent choice for new pool construction, equipment-pad upgrades, and replacement applications.

Product Specifications

2" and 2½" Plumbing Compatibility

The Jandy 4716 uses a versatile plumbing design that allows one valve to accommodate two common pipe sizes.

For 2-inch plumbing, Schedule 40 PVC or compatible pipe is installed inside the valve port.

For 2½-inch plumbing, an appropriate 2½-inch coupler, elbow, or fitting connects over the outside of the valve port.

This dual-size configuration provides additional installation flexibility and reduces the need for unnecessary plumbing adapters.

Never Lube Technology

Jandy Never Lube valves are designed to provide smooth operation without regular valve lubrication.

The internal positive-seal diverter creates dependable flow control while the durable valve body and internal components are designed to withstand demanding swimming pool environments.

This makes the 4716 an excellent choice for equipment pads where dependable operation and minimal maintenance are important.

Automation Compatible

The Jandy 4716 can be operated manually using the included handle or paired with a compatible Jandy Valve Actuator for automatic operation.

When connected to a compatible pool automation system, an actuator can automatically reposition the valve for functions such as:

• Pool and spa switching
• Water-feature control
• Solar heating
• Heater bypass
• Suction-line selection
• Return-line control
• Equipment isolation

Frequently Asked Questions

What size plumbing does the Jandy 4716 fit?

The 4716 is designed for 2-inch and 2½-inch plumbing.

Is the Jandy 4716 a 2-way or 3-way valve?

It is a 2-way / 2-port valve.

Does a 2-inch pipe fit inside the valve?

Yes. 2-inch pipe fits directly inside the valve port.

How does 2½-inch plumbing connect?

A compatible 2½-inch fitting or coupler fits over the outside of the valve port.

Does the Jandy 4716 need to be lubricated?

No. It uses Jandy's Never Lube technology and is designed for maintenance-free valve operation.

What is the maximum working pressure?

The valve has a maximum working pressure rating of approximately 50 PSI.

Can a valve actuator be installed on the 4716?

Yes. The Jandy 4716 is compatible with Jandy Pro Series valve actuators, allowing the valve to be integrated into a compatible pool automation system.

Is this the complete valve?

Yes. Jandy 4716 is the complete 2-way positive-seal Never Lube valve, not simply an internal replacement diverter.

Can the internal parts be replaced?

Yes. Several internal components are serviceable, including the handle, knob, cover, O-rings, and diverter assembly. The valve housing itself is not supplied separately, so a damaged housing requires replacement of the complete valve.
