Product Overview

The Nirvana FC-120K BTU Heat/Cool Variable Speed Fan Heat Pump | NIRFC120HC is a high-efficiency pool heat pump designed to provide both pool heating and pool cooling for year-round water comfort. With powerful 120,000 BTU class performance, this unit is built for residential pool systems that need reliable temperature control in both warm and cool seasons.

The heat/cool functionality allows the unit to warm pool water during cooler weather and help lower water temperature during extreme heat. This makes it an excellent choice for pool owners who want to extend the swim season while also preventing uncomfortable “bathwater” pool temperatures during hot summer months.

Equipped with a variable-speed smart fan, digital controls, and a durable titanium heat exchanger, the Nirvana NIRFC120HC is designed for quiet operation, efficient performance, and long-term outdoor pool equipment use.

• Extending the swim season in spring and fall
• Customers wanting both heating and cooling in one unit
• Pool owners looking for quieter operation
• Energy-conscious pool heating upgrades
• Saltwater and traditionally chlorinated pools
• Replacing older pool heat pumps
• Equipment pads requiring efficient electric heating
• Professional pool equipment installations

Key Features

• Heat and cool functionality — heats pool water in cooler weather and cools water during extreme heat.
• 120,000 BTU class performance — strong heating capacity for compatible residential pool systems.
• Variable-speed smart fan — adjusts airflow to help improve efficiency, reduce noise, and match demand.
• Digital control panel — allows simple temperature adjustment and system monitoring.
• Titanium heat exchanger — provides corrosion resistance for properly maintained pool and saltwater systems.
• Electric heat pump technology — transfers heat from the air instead of generating heat through gas combustion.
• Quiet operation design — variable fan operation helps reduce sound levels during lower-demand operation.
• Durable outdoor cabinet — built for outdoor pool equipment pad environments.
• Compatible with common pool sanitation systems — suitable for chlorine, saltwater, and properly balanced pool water systems.
• Energy-efficient pool comfort — designed to help maintain more stable water temperatures with lower operating cost than many gas-heating applications.
• Professional-grade installation — intended for proper electrical, plumbing, and airflow setup by qualified installers.

Benefits

The Nirvana NIRFC120HC gives pool owners better control over pool temperature throughout the season. In cooler weather, the heat pump can raise the water temperature for a longer and more comfortable swim season. In hotter climates, the cooling mode can help reduce excessive pool water temperature when the pool becomes too warm.

The variable-speed fan is a major advantage because it can adjust operation based on heating or cooling demand. This helps reduce unnecessary noise and supports improved energy performance compared with single-speed fan designs.

The titanium heat exchanger adds durability and corrosion resistance, making this unit a strong choice for properly maintained saltwater or chlorine pools. For pool owners who want an efficient alternative to gas heating with the added benefit of cooling, the NIRFC120HC is a strong premium heat pump option.

Installation Notes

The Nirvana NIRFC120HC should be installed by a qualified pool professional or licensed electrician. Proper installation requires correct electrical service, breaker sizing, bonding, grounding, water flow verification, plumbing layout, airflow clearance, equipment pad placement, and startup testing.

Before installation, confirm that the pool system is compatible with a 240V single-phase electric heat pump and that the heater is properly sized for the pool volume, climate, desired temperature rise, cooling needs, pool cover use, wind exposure, and seasonal expectations.

Heat pump performance depends on outdoor air temperature, humidity, water temperature, pool size, plumbing setup, water flow, and runtime. Proper airflow clearance around the unit is required for efficient heating and cooling performance.

Customer-Facing Q&A
