Bring outside combustion air directly to a compatible Pentair MasterTemp heater with the Pentair 461031 Direct Air Intake Duct Kit. Designed for indoor heater installations, this kit connects a 3-inch PVC air intake duct to the heater’s blower assembly. It provides the heater connection and termination components needed when a qualified installer routes the intake to an outdoor air source.
This is a combustion air intake kit. It is not an exhaust vent kit.

Check your heater model before ordering. Pentair specifies 474845 for the MasterTemp 125 and 475002 for Max-E-Therm heaters. Kit 461031 is the MasterTemp version. The additional PVC ducting needed to reach the outdoor intake is selected and supplied for the installation.
Installation notes
Pentair permits a maximum 3-inch PVC air intake run of 70 feet with no 90-degree elbows. The permitted length decreases by 12 feet for each 90-degree elbow or 6 feet for each 45-degree elbow. The outdoor intake opening must be positioned at least 1 foot above the roofline or normal snow level, and the exhaust vent termination requires at least 3 feet of vertical clearance from the air intake.
Have a qualified pool heater professional confirm the heater model, duct route, clearances, and applicable codes before installation. Never use PVC for the heater’s flue exhaust. The exhaust requires the vent material specified in the heater installation instructions.

Does the kit include all the PVC pipe needed to reach outdoors?
No. It includes a short 3-inch PVC section attached to the adapter. The rest of the intake duct is supplied according to the installation layout.
Can the 3-inch PVC be used for the exhaust?
No. This kit is for incoming combustion air only. PVC must not be used for the flue exhaust.
