Product Overview

The Pentair Upper Housing with Speed Control and Diverter | 230024 is an OEM replacement upper housing assembly for compatible Pentair In-Floor / formerly A&A Manufacturing top-feed actuator valve systems. This component is used on compatible 5-port and 6-port top-feed actuator valves and helps restore proper water direction, zone switching, and in-floor cleaning system performance.

This assembly includes the upper housing with speed control and diverter, plus the speed control screws and diverter screws. It is commonly referenced as replacement part A&A 522677 and is designed for top-feed valve assemblies used in Pentair / A&A in-floor pool cleaning and circulation systems.

The upper housing works with the speed control and diverter to manage water movement through the in-floor cleaning valve, directing flow to different cleaning zones. Replacing a damaged or worn upper housing can help correct pressure loss, poor zone rotation, leaking, or reduced in-floor cleaning performance.

Ideal For

• Pentair In-Floor cleaning systems
• Former A&A Manufacturing in-floor systems
• 5-port top-feed actuator valves
• 6-port top-feed actuator valves
• Replacing cracked or worn upper housings
• Restoring diverter and speed control operation
• In-floor cleaning valve repairs
• Zone valve service work
• Pool circulation system repairs
• Professional pool service technicians

Key Features

• OEM Pentair replacement part — designed for compatible Pentair In-Floor / A&A top-feed valve systems.
• Fits 5-port and 6-port top-feed actuator valves — compatible with common in-floor cleaning valve configurations.
• Includes speed control — helps regulate internal valve operation and water distribution.
• Includes diverter assembly — directs water flow to cleaning zones for in-floor circulation.
• Includes mounting screws — supplied with speed control screws and diverter screws.
• Replaces A&A part 522677 — common replacement reference for older A&A Manufacturing systems.
• Restores zone control — helps improve in-floor cleaning coverage when the original housing is worn or damaged.
• Helps reduce pressure loss — proper housing and sealing support stronger valve performance.
• Compatible with top-feed systems — designed specifically for top-feed actuator valve layouts.
• Professional service component — ideal for pool service repairs and valve rebuilds.

Benefits

The Pentair 230024 upper housing assembly helps restore reliable operation to compatible in-floor cleaning systems. A damaged or worn upper housing, speed control, or diverter can cause poor water distribution, weak cleaning heads, leaking, or uneven zone cycling.

Replacing this assembly can help improve cleaning performance by allowing the actuator valve to properly direct flow to each cleaning zone. This is especially important for in-floor systems that rely on correct valve timing and pressure to operate pop-up cleaning heads effectively.

For pool professionals, the 230024 is a practical repair part for servicing older A&A Manufacturing systems now under the Pentair In-Floor cleaning and circulation product family.

Compatibility Notes

The Pentair 230024 is designed for compatible Pentair In-Floor / A&A Manufacturing top-feed actuator valve systems.

Common compatibility references include:

• Pentair In-Floor top-feed systems
• Former A&A Manufacturing top-feed actuator valves
• 5-port top-feed actuator valves
• 6-port top-feed actuator valves
• Magna Sweep systems
• Quick Clean systems
• California Clean systems
• Turbo Clean systems
• Auto Clean systems
• Smart Clean systems
• Replacement applications requiring 230024 or 522677

Always confirm valve type, port count, feed orientation, existing part number, O-ring condition, clamp condition, and system diagram before ordering.

Installation Notes

This part should be installed by a qualified pool professional. Turn off the pool pump and relieve system pressure before opening the actuator valve.

Inspect the existing top-feed O-ring, band clamp, valve base, internal gears/components, plumbing connections, and sealing surfaces before installing the new upper housing. Replace worn seals or clamps as needed to prevent pressure loss or leakage.

After installation, restart the system and verify that the in-floor valve cycles properly, water is directed to each zone, and there are no leaks around the housing.
