Product Description

Maintain the performance of your Pentair salt chlorine generator with the Pentair 523103 Salt Cell Acid Wash Kit. This genuine Pentair maintenance accessory is designed to support compatible salt cells in an upright position during acid cleaning.

The stand attaches to the salt cell and helps contain the cleaning solution while calcium scale and mineral deposits are removed from the internal electrode blades. The included sealing O-ring helps provide a secure connection between the cleaning stand and the cell.

Regular inspection and proper cleaning can help restore chlorine production, maintain efficient operation, and extend the usable life of a serviceable salt cell.

This listing includes the acid wash stand and O-ring only. The salt cell, muriatic acid, protective equipment, and other cleaning supplies are not included.

Recommended Use

Inspect and rinse the salt cell with clean water before performing an acid wash. Acid cleaning should only be used when visible calcium scale remains between the electrode blades and cannot be removed with a garden hose.

Attach the cleaning stand securely to the compatible salt cell and place the assembly upright on a stable, level surface. Prepare and use the cleaning solution according to the salt-cell manufacturer’s instructions.

After cleaning, thoroughly rinse the salt cell, stand, and O-ring with clean water before reinstalling the cell.

Important Safety Information

Disconnect electrical power to the pool pump, salt chlorine generator, and automation system before removing or servicing the salt cell.

When working with muriatic acid:

• Wear chemical-resistant gloves
• Wear approved eye and face protection
• Work in a well-ventilated area
• Always add acid to water
• Never add water directly to acid
• Never use undiluted acid
• Keep the cell upright during cleaning
• Do not submerge the complete cell
• Follow the salt-cell manufacturer’s dilution and cleaning-time instructions
• Thoroughly rinse all components after use

Unnecessary or excessive acid washing can damage the electrode coating and shorten the service life of the salt cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit include muriatic acid?

No. This listing includes the acid wash stand and sealing O-ring only. Acid and other cleaning supplies are sold separately.

Is the salt cell included?

No. Part number 523103 is a maintenance accessory and does not include a replacement salt cell.

What is the purpose of the cleaning stand?

The stand holds the salt cell upright and helps contain the cleaning solution while calcium scale is removed from the internal blades.

Can the kit be reused?

Yes. Thoroughly rinse the stand and O-ring after each use. Inspect both components for wear, cracking, or chemical damage before reusing them.

Does this kit fit every Pentair salt cell?

No. It is designed for select Pentair iChlor and IntelliChlor Plus/LT cells. Confirm the exact model number before ordering.

How often should the salt cell be acid washed?

Acid wash the cell only when calcium buildup cannot be removed with a normal water rinse. Excessive acid cleaning may shorten the life of the cell.

Can calcium buildup reduce chlorine production?

Yes. Heavy mineral scale can interfere with the cell’s ability to operate efficiently and may reduce chlorine output.
