Product Overview

The Mikey’s Quick Split Coupler P&H-SLT2 provides a fast, service-friendly solution for replacing a cracked or broken union on compatible Pentair IntelliChlor and Hayward salt chlorine generator cells.

Its innovative two-piece split design installs around the existing salt cell connection, eliminating the need to cut and replumb the surrounding PVC. This can significantly reduce the labor, materials, and downtime normally associated with replacing a damaged salt cell coupling.

The updated P&H-SLT2 design features stronger, thicker construction and adjusted threads for compatibility with a wider selection of pool equipment.

Installation Instructions

1. Shut off power to the pool equipment and salt chlorine generator.
2. Relieve pressure from the pool circulation system.
3. Remove or carefully break away the damaged coupling.
4. Verify that the sealing O-ring is present and in good condition.

6. Assemble the coupler and tighten both sides evenly.
7. Restore circulation and inspect the connection for leaks.

Important Installation Notes

• Hand tighten only.
• Do not use channel locks, pipe wrenches, or other tools to tighten the coupler.
• Using a wrench may damage or crack the plastic.
• Replacing the existing O-ring during installation is strongly recommended.
• Confirm that the O-ring remains properly seated before tightening.
• Loosening the opposite salt cell coupling slightly may help both sides tighten evenly.
• Professional installation is recommended for the best results.
