Product Overview

The Pentair Quad D.E. 80 Sq. Ft. Pool Filter | 188593 delivers high-performance filtration for in-ground swimming pools and spas by combining the fine filtration capability of diatomaceous earth with a cartridge-style internal design.

With 80 square feet of effective filtration area, a flow rating of up to 160 GPM, and an approximate 8 lb. D.E. media requirement, the Quad D.E. 80 is designed for larger residential pools and high-flow circulation systems that require dependable filtration and excellent water clarity.

Unlike traditional D.E. filters that use vertical grid assemblies, the Pentair Quad D.E. system uses four cartridge-style elements. These elements are coated with D.E. powder to create a fine filtration layer capable of capturing small particles and suspended debris from pool water.

This design provides strong dirt-holding capacity while making internal cleaning and inspection straightforward.

Specifications

High-Capacity D.E. Filtration

The Quad D.E. 80 is designed for pool owners who want excellent filtration and clear water.

Diatomaceous earth coats the internal elements and forms a filtration layer that traps small contaminants as water passes through the filter. The larger 80 sq. ft. surface area provides increased dirt-holding capacity and can help extend the time between cleanings compared with smaller filters.

The filter is especially well suited for larger pools, pool-and-spa combinations, and equipment pads using modern variable-speed pumps.

Maintenance

The internal cartridge-style elements can be removed for thorough cleaning and inspection. After cleaning, the filter must be properly recharged with the recommended amount of D.E. media before normal operation.

Regular maintenance should include inspecting the filter elements, tank O-ring, clamp assembly, air-relief system, and plumbing connections.
