Compatibility Notice

Pentair has produced multiple generations and revisions of WhisperFlo and IntelliFlo pumps. Always confirm your pump model number, manufacturing date, existing seal plate, and replacement parts diagram before ordering.

Using replacement reference 074564 is one of the best ways to verify compatibility.

Why Replace the Seal Plate and Shaft Seal Together?

The mechanical shaft seal prevents pool water from traveling along the motor shaft and entering the motor assembly. Over time, the shaft seal can wear, crack, or begin leaking.

When the motor is removed from the pump, replacing the shaft seal is generally recommended rather than reinstalling an older seal.

The SW-21-564 kit allows you to replace the:

• Seal plate
• Seal plate gasket
• Mechanical shaft seal

at the same time, helping provide a complete and reliable pump repair.

Common Signs You May Need This Kit

The SW-21-564 may be needed if you notice:

• Water leaking between the pump housing and motor
• Water underneath the pump motor
• Cracks in the existing seal plate
• Warped or damaged seal plate
• Worn or flattened seal plate gasket
• Mineral deposits around the motor shaft
• Evidence of a leaking shaft seal
• Motor bearing corrosion caused by water intrusion
• Pump motor replacement requiring a new seal

Protect Your Pool Pump Motor

A leaking mechanical shaft seal can allow water to reach the motor shaft and bearings. If the leak is left unresolved, moisture can eventually cause bearing corrosion, excessive motor noise, and premature motor failure.

Replacing the shaft seal and inspecting the seal plate during pump service can help protect the replacement motor and extend the life of the pump.

Ideal for Pool Pump Repairs

The Swimables SW-21-564 is a practical replacement option for:

• Pool service professionals
• Pool equipment repair technicians
• Maintenance departments
• Property managers
• Commercial pool facilities
• DIY pool pump repairs
• Pump motor replacements
• Wet-end rebuilds

Installation Notes

Always disconnect electrical power to the pool pump before beginning service.

When replacing the seal plate and shaft seal, inspect the pump housing, diffuser, impeller, motor shaft, and mating surfaces for additional wear or damage.

Mechanical shaft seals contain precision sealing surfaces. Avoid touching the polished sealing faces whenever possible and keep the components clean during installation.

Professional installation is recommended for customers who are unfamiliar with servicing pool pump motors and wet-end components.
