Product Overview

The US Seal PS-200 is a 5/8" mechanical pump shaft seal used on many compatible pool and spa pump applications. This shaft seal helps prevent water from leaking along the motor shaft and is commonly replaced during motor changes, leak repairs, impeller service, or wet-end rebuilds.

Ideal For
Pool service technicians, spa repair professionals, and pool owners replacing a worn or leaking shaft seal on compatible pumps that require a PS-200 / AS-200 style 5/8" seal.

Key Features

• US Seal replacement mechanical shaft seal
• 5/8" shaft size
• Type A mechanical seal design
• Buna elastomer construction
• Ceramic stationary seat
• Stainless steel spring and metal components
• Commonly used in pool and spa pump repair
• Helps prevent water from reaching the motor shaft and bearings
• Recommended when replacing a pump motor or opening the wet end

Benefits
The PS-200 helps restore a proper seal between the pump wet end and motor shaft. Replacing a leaking shaft seal can help protect the motor from water damage, reduce bearing failure, prevent corrosion, and keep the pump operating properly after service. This is a common replacement seal for many pump models when the original seal cross-references to PS-200 or AS-200.

Customer-Facing Q&A

What is the PS-200 used for?
The PS-200 is used to seal the pump shaft area on compatible pool and spa pumps, helping prevent water from leaking into the motor side of the pump.

Is this the same as AS-200?
PS-200 is commonly cross-referenced with AS-200 style pump shaft seals, but the exact pump model should always be confirmed before ordering.

Does this fit all 5/8" pool pumps?
No. Even though this is a 5/8" shaft seal, pump seals are model-specific. Confirm your pump model or original seal cross-reference before ordering.

Is this good for saltwater pools?
The PS-200 is a Buna general-service seal. For saltwater chlorine generator pools, ozone systems, bromine spas, or harsh chemical conditions, a Viton or heavy-duty version may be a better choice.

Should I replace this when changing the motor?
Yes. A new shaft seal should be installed whenever the motor is replaced or the pump wet end is opened.

Confirm Before Ordering
Please verify your exact pump model, shaft size, and original seal cross-reference before ordering. Shaft seals are model-specific, and installed seals are typically not returnable.
