Installation Information

Turn off the pool circulation pump and relieve plumbing pressure before removing or installing the cell union.

The tailpiece is installed into the appropriate 2-inch plumbing connection, while the union nut provides the removable connection to the compatible Hayward salt chlorinator cell.

Inspect the existing cell union O-ring during installation. A worn, flattened, cracked, or damaged O-ring should be replaced to help prevent leaks.

Hand-tighten the union securely. Avoid excessive tightening that could damage the union nut, tailpiece, or salt cell housing.
